16. The art of Tasmania & conclusion

The Tasmania is a natural place. So it can attract a lot of artists to go to there to draw a picture, take a photo and live there and so on. In this place, there is a lot of thing what are different to other place. There is a wealth of creativity in the island state that comes from a long tradition and active community of artists, designers and performers whose work is often inspired by Tasmania's natural, historical and political landscape.

Tasmanian floral emblem—Blue Gum

There are 500 native Eucalyptus species in Australia. Tasmanian Blue Gum is one of them. On 27 November 1962, Tasmanian Blue Gum is entitled Tasmanian floral emblem. In 1792, there was a French Botanist collecting the first Tasmanian Blue Gum on the south –east coast of Tasmania.

Tasmanian Blue Gum’s height is generally from 30 to 55 metres. The tallest Blue Gum is 90.7 metres tall. The mature leaves are narrow, deep and glossy green. Their lengths are from 15 to 35 cm. Tasmanian Blue Gum has rough bark which colour is grey and brown. The young leaves’ lengths of Blue Gum are from 6 to 15cm and colour becomes blue-grey. This is the reason why Eucalyptus Globulus named Blue Gum.

Tasmanian Blue Gum is a kind of hard and durable timber. It is used to produce telegraph poles, piles and sleepers. Of course, it is also for paper making. About flowers of Blue Gum, It can produce great nectar. Tasmanian farm’s bees can collect it and produce strong flavoured honey.

13. MONA the museum of old and new art

• MONA is the museum of old and new art, located in a winery called Moorilla on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, this museum is the largest fund by privateness in Australia.  In MONA which be presented is from old to new like its name, antiquities, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection.  So the museum be described as a “subversive adult Disneyland”.

This is the original centerpiece in MONA museum.

The types of transport in Tasmania include air, antarctica base, road, rail and shipping.Air transport becomes more and more popular,because it is the fastest mode in transport. In Tasmania, the main air carriers are Jetstar Airways and Virgin Australia; Qantas, QantasLink and Regional Express Airlines.These airlines fly direct routes to Brisbane, Canberra, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney. Major airports include Hobart International Airport (which has not had a regular scheduled international passenger service since the 1990s) and Launceston Airport; the smaller airports, Burnie (Wynyard) and King Island, serviced by Regional Express; andDevonport, serviced by QantasLink; have services to Melbourne. Inter-Tasmanian air services are offered by Airlines of Tasmania. Until 2001,Ansett Australia operated majorly out of Tasmania to 12 destinations nationwide.

The most popular transport is road transport, there are some advantages of road transport, such as low cost and convenient. We can see road transport everywhere. In Tasmania, since the 1980s, many of the state's highways have undergone regular upgrades. These include the Hobart Southern Outlet, Launceston Southern Outlet, Bass Highway reconstruction, and the Huon Highway. 
There are no passenger train services in Tasmania, but rail transport in Tasmania consists of narrow-gauge lines to all four major population centres and to mining and forestry operations on the west coast and in the northwest. 
The port of Hobart is the second deepest natural port in the world, second to only Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. If you want to travel to Tasmania by shipping, the Spirit of Tasmania links the island with mainland Australia.

Tasmania is a part of Australia. However, Tasmania is an independent island. So in this area, it has a lot of world heritage sites. Nowadays, most people lives in cities, and do the jobs every day. They always keep busy and make themselves tired. Therefore, people need a place can let them get relax. Tasmania is good choice for them to get close to natural places. Furthermore, there are a lot of world heritage areas that is best natural area in there.

The Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area consists of part of a chain of six national parks and a number of reserves and conservation areas and covers coast, islands, rivers, peaks, valleys and button grass plains of almost indescribable beauty and remoteness.

Tasmania's unique wilderness and five of Tasmania's historic convict sites are listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations as worthy of World Heritage Listing in recognition of their outstanding natural or cultural importance to the common heritage of humanity.
